DJ.I
AEG · Armoured fighter · Germany · Pioneer Age (pre-1919)
The AEG DJ.I was a prototype biplane fighter that was built by the Allgemeine Elektricitäts-Gesellschaft (AEG) during the First World War for the Imperial German Army's Imperial German Air Service. It was derived from the unsuccessful AEG PE triplane fighter and shared the same armoured fuselage design, armament and engine. Three prototypes were ordered, but only two are known to have been completed before end of the war in November 1918.
