DARPA programme to develop an air-launched autonomous UCAV that extends the effective range of air-to-air missiles beyond what manned fighters can achieve. The LongShot vehicle itself launches from a larger aircraft then employs AAMs against targets; increasing missile-firing range by orders of magnitude. General Atomics selected for Phase 2 in 2021.
