These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of whothatplane.com (the “Site”), operated by an individual (the “operator”). By accessing or using the Site you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
The Site is a free, ad-supported reference gallery for aerospace vehicles. The content is sourced from publicly available material — primarily Wikipedia under the CC BY-SA 4.0 licence, public-domain government and manufacturer fact sheets, and the NASA Image Library — and is presented for educational and informational purposes.

robots.txt, except for well-behaved indexing crawlers operating within their declared rate limits.Vehicle summaries and images on the Site are sourced from Wikipedia and other public-domain or openly licensed sources. The original Wikipedia text and images remain the property of their respective authors and licensors; rewritten and curated text added by the operator is licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0, the same licence as the underlying source.
The Site name “Who That Plane?!”, the Site’s logo, layout, taxonomy, and selection / arrangement of content are protected as the operator’s creative work. These Terms grant you no rights to use those elements except as required for fair use, quotation, and the CC BY-SA reuse described above.
If you believe that content displayed on the Site infringes a copyright you own or control, please send us a notice that includes:
Send the notice through the contact form selecting the “Copyright / DMCA” subject. We aim to review and act on properly formed notices within ten business days. We will remove or disable access to material that we determine in good faith to infringe, and we may, in our discretion, notify the user or source from which the content originated.
If you believe content was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notice through the same channel; include the items above plus a statement that you consent to jurisdiction in any court of competent jurisdiction.
The Site links out to and embeds material from third parties, including Wikipedia, Wikimedia Commons, the NASA Image Library, AeroDataBox, adsb.lol, adsb.fi, Google AdSense, Google Analytics, and Microsoft Clarity. We do not control those services and are not responsible for their content, availability, or terms of use. Your use of any third-party service is governed by that service’s own terms and privacy policy.
The ADS-B / Radar feature shows aircraft positions reported by community-operated open-data feeds (adsb.lol and adsb.fi). This data is offered “as is” and is not suitable for safety-of-life applications, air traffic services, or navigation. Do not rely on the Site for any operational, regulatory, or safety purpose.
THE SITE AND ITS CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR UNINTERRUPTED OPERATION.
The operator makes no representation that vehicle specifications, dates, photographs, captions, or other information on the Site are complete, accurate, or up to date. Aerospace specifications change over time and primary sources sometimes disagree; always verify against an authoritative manufacturer or government source before relying on any number on the Site.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary damages arising out of or related to your use of the Site, including without limitation loss of profits, goodwill, data, or other intangible losses, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. The operator’s total liability to you for any direct damages, regardless of the cause of action, will not exceed one hundred US dollars (US$100).
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law (such as liability for fraud, gross negligence, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence).
You agree to indemnify and hold the operator harmless from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Site, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
The Site is provided on a best-effort basis. The operator may add, remove, or change features at any time without notice and does not commit to any particular uptime, performance, or feature set.
The operator may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be highlighted at the top of this page for at least 30 days after they take effect. Continued use of the Site after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect; the unenforceable provision will be reformed to the minimum extent necessary to be enforceable while preserving its original intent.
Questions about these Terms, copyright takedown notices, and other legal queries can be sent to the operator via the contact form.
